Vacheron Constantin has created the most luxurious merch we’ve ever seen

The world's oldest continuously-operating watchmaker Vacheron Constantin has just released an incredibly exclusive ode to Harrods in timepiece form

As anyone who’s explored the intricate floorpan of Harrods will tell you, it’s a rabbit warren of the most desirable items in the world. Since the department store opened its doors in 1849, it’s become known for being one of the capital’s go-to curators of the finer things in life – which makes it a rather fitting setting for the globe’s oldest continually-running watch brand (pun intended), Vacheron Constantin, to launch an exclusive new timepiece.

The model chosen is one of Vacheron Constantin’s more refined options, called the Traditionnelle. Measuring 38mm across, the 18K rose gold case falls in that subtle sizing margin that will fit perfectly under cuff while still holding enough real estate on the wrist to make an impression to those who happen to catch a glimpse of it poking out as they shake your hand.

The model is one brand fans will know well, but what makes this special is the eye-catching and colourful alligator strap in Harrods’ trademark shade of green.

The specialised skills that Vacheron Constantin has developed over the last 260 years are on display in an ever so subtle way with this watch. On the dial you’ll notice a subtle texture that is in fact a hand-guilloché pattern that takes years to perfect. The in-house 2455 calibre movement that Vacheron has powering this watch has been fully designed, constructed and finished by the master watchmakers based in the Vallée de Joux.

Like many of the best things in life, these watches are an extremely limited edition, with only 20 models being produced and only available to buy in the department store’s Fine Watch Room – so if time is your ultimate luxury, make sure you book some space in your diary to get down there sharpish.

£25,600, only available in store at Harrods, Brompton Rd, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL.
