Think you’d look good in Han Solo’s jacket?

A new auction is putting it (and 600 other pieces of cinema history) up for sale

Ever fancied wearing Han Solo’s jacket? Indiana Jones’s fedora? Tyler Durden’s dressing gown? Well now you can – if you have the odd thousand or two lying around, that is.

London and LA-based film memorabilia studio Prop Store have just announced they’re auctioning off over 600 lots from their extensive collection. The auction will take place on 20th September, and will feature props and costumes from films such Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Titanic, Lord of the Rings, and more.

A highlight of the auction is the Han Solo jacket from The Empire Strikes Back, as worn by Harrison Ford, which is expected to go for around £500,000-£1,000,000 on the day. Other top sellers are estimated to be Marty McFly’s (Michael J.Fox) hoverboard from Back To The Future Part II (£30,000-£50,000) and Indiana Jones’s (Harrison Ford) fedora from Raiders of the Lost Ark (£200,000-£300,000) and whip from The Temple of Doom (£50,000-£70,000).

Other iconic film props up for grabs include Agent J’s (Will Smith) Noisy Cricket gun from Men In Black (£8,000-£12,000), Forrest Gump’s (Tom Hanks) Bubba Gump Shrimp hat (£5,000-£7,000), and Legolas’s (Orlando Bloom) Lothlorien Arrow from The Lord of the Rings (£8,000-£10,000). There’ll also be some lower priced lots for collectors and film fanatics with smaller budgets, including a SFX Crew Jacket from Star Wars: The Last Jedi (£200-£300) and a pair of Olivander’s Wand Boxes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (circa £400).

The auction will be held at London’s Odeon BFI IMAX. From 6th September – 20th September, there’ll also be a free preview exhibition of 270 of the lots in the run up to the auction. The exhibition will also coincide with a number of special screenings at the BFI IMAX, inspired by the iconic film props that will be going on sale – titles are yet to be confirmed.
