Not meaning to start out on a downer here, but I have yet to speak to a single person who’s looking forward to 2020. In the run-up to winter, I get the impression that the vast majority of Londoners are apprehensive about it at best and downright dreading it at worst, thanks to the political malaise hanging over everyday life right now. Either way, it’s a poor start to party season. But we’re here to change all that.
Rather than shutting yourself away from the world in a futile effort to avoid a seemingly never-ending cycle of bad news, now’s the time to get out there and really enjoy life. And the good news is that there’s no better place to have a blowout of truly decadent proportions than right here in the capital.
That was the thought behind our new issue, our Winter Paper, which arrives at Tube stations across the capital on Wednesday 4 December at 5pm. Inside you’ll find a whole host of ways to enjoy yourself, from laughing along to Jay Rayner’s live shows, to hitting the clubs over the festive season, and an in-depth look at how the big minds behind new restaurant Folie created the capital’s sexiest new place for food.
Not convinced to put your dancing shoes on yet? Well, we’ve got plenty of advice on how to have a blowout soirée at home from Raven Smith, as well as a guide to throwing the best dinner party imaginable.
Whether you end up going out or staying in this winter, we hope this issue turns your 2019 around, just in time for 2020. Party on.
